The 4 Main Questions About Working At Home


Hey everyone... this is an article I wrote for my website. I don't want you to visit the website, cause it's not fit for public viewing yet... lol. But I wanted to share this article as a sneak preview...

Since I started working for myself and working from home 7 years ago I've gotten A LOT of questions from various friends and acquaintances about working at home. Time and time again, these four main questions come up.

  1. Tracey, what do you do at home?

  2. What can I do at home?

  3. How much can I make?

  4. Will I get rich?

To answer these questions a little background information is in order. My specialty is Customer Service. I've been in the Customer Service industry for over 20 years and believe me I've seen and heard it all! I started out as a gourmet cook in a posh restaurant and over the years I was a server and a manager at various establishments.

Meanwhile, I worked my way through college and raised my family. Computers for Business was my course of study and remains my fascination to this day. I love that business has gotten so fun and working from home is easily accessible to everyone now! Ideas abound on the net...

Through the years I've remained in the Customer Service industry, because I love working with people. Although I must admit what I do now is a far cry from slingin' hash as a kitchen rat.

Currently, I'm a web developer and writer in the process of building my own website, a free online resource directory for people who already work at home and people who want to.

I'm also a part time telecommuter with employee status at an awesome company. I answer phone calls at home and send people road service. I won't give it up no matter how much I make elsewhere.

Why? I love the customers!

I just... love... people. I love to watch them, talk to them, and meet them, etc...

As you can imagine, the natural career progression for me was to get into sales and service. So, of course I've also been involved with Direct Marketing and Sales on and off for the past 10 years.

The real answer to the number one question is... I wear a lot of hats! Primarily, I answer phone calls and I make great money doing it.

I also spend hours and hours online researching the information I'll be including on my website and choosing appropriate content. From time to time I make phone calls for the liquidation business my son and I recently formed.

I'm also involved in affiliate marketing. There are a lot of good affiliate marketing programs out there. Nearly every product or service you can think of has an affiliate program these days, some with awesome residual income potential! I spend time marketing the best ones...

I love multiple income streams!

  • Word of caution...make sure the product you choose to market is a well reviewed, solid product or you'll end up looking like an ass. Believe it or not, as big as the Internet is, people will remember you. Especially if you sold them a bad product... and they'll tell their friends. To ensure your success make a solid commitment to promote only reputable companies!

The answer to question number two is really the same as the answer for number one, so this hardly seems fair to you. But it's true. If you want to be successful working from home you're going to have to wear a lot of hats!

You can do anything you want from home as long as you apply yourself. Best bet... identify a niche, identify their need and find a way to fill it with your own product or service. You'll make the most money that way.

If you need more training to accomplish your goal, so be it! Learn away... keep up with your industry trends. By all means, take a class and find a mentor. Learn as much as possible and you can't lose! Get involved in a joint venture. Explore...

You never have to be tied down to one specific genre online, but I would suggest setting up one business at a time. Focus on building a solid foundation somewhere. Set goals for yourself and stick to them. Complete your projects on time.

Above all, don't give up on yourself! Don't say it's too hard or I don't have time. You're the only one who can make or break your business. Expect great things! Inspire others to success!

To answer question number three, you can make as much money as you want! For real, the sky is the limit. You are only limited by what you think you can make. All you have to do is reach out and choose which business you want.

I'm not saying you'll make a fortune overnight. I'm not saying you'll win the lottery or write a hit play. What I am saying is that determination and hard work pay off! Whatever you decide to do set your goals, write them down, concoct your outrageous plan and stick to it.

Aaaahhhh... now we come to question 4... that's the big one isn't it?

Everybody wants to know the answer to that one.

All I can say is... it's entirely up to you. Entirely...

You might want me to tell you it has to do with having the right program, finding the right market for your product, the stock market, buying habits, etc... but none of that would be true.

The truth is that everything is up to you... you can go as far as you want or be as limited as you want. What you ask for the Universe will give you...so make sure you're putting in the right request.

I'll say this one thing again, because it bears repeating...identify a niche, indentify their need, and find a way to fill it with your own product or service.

If you truly want to be rich, you will be.

You will find the right way for you to get rich, because you won't give up until you do. You won't quit dreaming or trying. You'll grasp at straws until finally... you'll find the way. You'll dare to KNOW you're rich!

I'm so grateful for having the choice to work from home! Sometimes I forget that most people have to drive to work. This is the best and I'm digging helping other people secure and grow their at home businesses.
